Gp Capt RK Kashyap is a WSO with over 3300 hours on fighters and transport aircraft. The officer was the first lot of WSOs inducted on Su-30Ks in 2000 and was instrumental in conceptualising the WSO training programme in IAF in 2005/2006. He founded the Weapon School for WSOs and is alumnus of Higher Command, Army War College, Mhow. The officer participated in the 1999 Kargil Operations. He has commanded a combat Sqn and a flying Station besides holding Staff appointments in Command and at Air Headquarters. He served as a Senior research fellow in MP-IDSA in 2024.
